Calculation results

Results are estimates based on the information you enter and the assumptions used by each calculator. Results can be incorrect if information is entered incorrectly or if your employer uses different rounding, break, workweek, payroll, or overtime rules. Overtime rules, exemptions, rounding practices, paid and unpaid breaks, workweek definitions, and other employment requirements can vary by jurisdiction, employer, and employment arrangement. Any U.S. federal or state presets provided by a calculator are examples and should not be treated as a determination of your legal rights or pay.

Holiday and countdown dates

U.S. federal holiday dates follow the rules in 5 U.S.C. 6103 and the observance rules published by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. UK, Canadian and Australian calendars follow their national rules. Private employers, states, schools and other organizations may use different calendars, observance rules or paid-time-off policies.

Religious and lunar dates are calculated or taken from published tables, and some can differ by a day by location or local practice. Islamic dates (Ramadan, Eid) use the tabular Islamic calendar and depend on moon sighting; Hindu festival dates (Diwali, Holi) follow New Delhi listings; Jewish holidays begin at sundown on the evening before the date shown. Each countdown page notes these limits. Counts use your device's date and time zone.

Remaining-life and weeks-remaining figures are statistical averages from the CDC National Center for Health Statistics United States Life Tables, 2024, with optional rough adjustments from published studies. They are not medical advice, not a prediction of any individual’s lifespan, and not a substitute for care from a qualified clinician.
