How this is calculated

Each midnight takes one off the number. Today is left out and the day itself is counted, so tomorrow shows as 1 day away. Clock changes for daylight saving make no difference.

In Excel or Google Sheets, type =DATE(2026,12,31)-TODAY() into a cell to get the same count; add 1 to include today.

Counted from Saturday, October 17, 2026 (US Eastern time). When you open the page, it counts again from the date on your device, so it matches your own day.
