Terms of use

Last updated: 12 October 2026.

These are the rules for using ClockTotals. They're short, and they mostly come down to this: the tools are free, the answers are estimates, and you should check anything important before you rely on it.

Using the site

You can use ClockTotals for personal, school or work purposes: adding up hours, filling in a timesheet, estimating overtime, planning shifts or counting down to a date. There's nothing to sign up for and nothing to pay.

The results are estimates

Each calculator works from what you enter and the assumptions it states on the page. It can still be wrong: a typo in a start time changes the total, and your employer's payroll system may round, treat breaks or define the workweek differently. Check your inputs and the result before using them on a timesheet, an invoice or anything to do with pay. The Disclaimer explains the limits of the calculators in more detail.

Not professional advice

ClockTotals isn't a law firm, a payroll company, an accountant or an employer, and nothing on the site is legal, tax, employment or payroll advice. Overtime, rounding, breaks, holidays and pay rules change from place to place and from one employer to the next. If you need to know what applies to you, ask your employer or a qualified professional.

What you can't do

Use the site for lawful purposes only. Don't try to break it, get into its systems without permission, or hit it with automated requests that slow it down for everyone else.

You're welcome to link to any public page. Just don't make the link look as if ClockTotals sponsors, endorses or works with your site or organisation when it doesn't.

No guarantees

ClockTotals is provided as it is, when it's available. The aim is to keep it accurate and online, but there's no promise that it will always be available, free of errors or right for a particular purpose.

As far as the law allows, ClockTotals isn't responsible for losses that come from relying on a calculator result, or from being unable to use the site. Where the law doesn't allow a limit like this, it doesn't apply.

Changes

If the site or its policies change, these terms may change too. The date at the top shows when they were last updated.
