Why the weekday changes
A common year is 365 days, one day more than 52 weeks. So April 2 moves on one weekday each year: Thursday in 2026, Friday in 2027. The jump is two days when February 29 comes in between, so April 2, 2028 is a Sunday, two on from 2027's Friday. Between 1901 and 2099, the whole pattern repeats every 28 years.
