Time Zone Converter and Meeting Planner
Add the cities you need, and this time zone converter shows the same moment in each one. Any date works. It doubles as a meeting planner. A 24-hour grid shades everyone's working hours and picks out the ones they share. Pick an hour and you can send it as a calendar invite or a plain link. Daylight saving comes from your browser's IANA time zone data. A warning shows up when a clock change is close.
Quick answer: To convert a time, take away the source city's UTC offset to get UTC. Then add the offset of the city you want. To find a meeting time, line up each city's 9 AM to 5 PM day on one clock. On Monday, October 5, 2026, New York (UTC−4) and London (UTC+1) share 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM New York time. That is 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM in London.
How the conversion works
Whatever you type is taken as the local time in the first city on the list. The converter turns it into one UTC moment and then shows that moment on every other city's clock. The grid covers that first city's day from midnight to midnight, an hour per row, which means a clock-change day has 23 or 25 rows. Weekday hours from 9 AM to 5 PM are shaded for each city, and a row lights up when they all are.
Worked example: one call, three cities
Suppose a call is set for 9:00 AM New York time on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. Colleagues in London and Karachi will join. In July New York is on daylight time, four hours behind UTC, so the call starts at 13:00 UTC.
London is on British Summer Time, an hour ahead of UTC, which puts the call at 2:00 PM there. Karachi stays five hours ahead of UTC all year. There the call begins at 6:00 PM, still on Wednesday.
Result: 1:00 PM UTC, 2:00 PM in London and 6:00 PM in Karachi on July 15, 2026.
Time difference calculator: common pairs
The gap between two places changes when only one of them moves its clocks. The table gives the usual summer and winter differences. The converter above works out the exact one for your date.
| Between | Northern summer | Northern winter |
|---|---|---|
| New York and Los Angeles | 3 hours | 3 hours |
| New York and Chicago | 1 hour | 1 hour |
| New York and London | 5 hours | 5 hours |
| London and Paris | 1 hour | 1 hour |
| New York and India | 9 hours 30 minutes | 10 hours 30 minutes |
| London and India | 4 hours 30 minutes | 5 hours 30 minutes |
| London and Tokyo | 8 hours | 9 hours |
| New York and Sydney | 14 hours | 16 hours |
In a spreadsheet, =A2+5/24 moves a time in A2 forward five hours, and =A2-5/24 moves it back. Half-hour zones such as India need =A2+9.5/24.

US clocks change on the second Sunday in March and the first Sunday in November. UK and EU clocks change on the last Sunday in March and the last Sunday in October. Sydney changes on the first Sunday in April and the first Sunday in October. In 2026 the US dates are March 8 and November 1. The UK and EU dates are March 29 and October 25.
Mistakes that put a meeting at the wrong hour
The biggest one is treating a zone as one fixed offset. New York sits five hours behind UTC in winter and four in summer. That is why "Eastern Time" alone is not enough to convert a time.
Clocks also change on different days in different countries. In 2026 the US moved forward on March 8 and the UK on March 29. So for three weeks New York was only four hours behind London. The same short gap returns from October 25 to October 31.
Abbreviations cause trouble too. CST can mean US Central or China Standard Time, and IST is used in India, Ireland and Israel. So a city name is the safer way to say which zone you mean.

Time zone and meeting planner questions
Remote teams, family calls and live events overseas bring up most of these.
How do I find the best time to meet across time zones?
Add everyone's city and look for the highlighted rows. Those are the hours when all of them are inside 9 AM to 5 PM on a weekday. A team split between New York and London usually meets in the New York morning. That is the London afternoon. If no working hour is shared, the planner suggests the nearest hour when everyone is awake, from 7 AM to 10 PM.
What is the time difference between New York and London?
London is normally 5 hours ahead, so a 10:00 AM call in New York is 3:00 PM in London. For a few weeks a year it drops to 4 hours. The two countries change clocks on different dates. In 2026 that is March 8 to 28 and October 25 to 31.
What is the time difference between EST and PST?
Three hours, with California behind. A show that starts at 9:00 PM in New York is on at 6:00 PM in Los Angeles. Both sides change clocks on the same weekend, so the gap stays three hours all year.
Can I convert a time zone for a future date?
Pick the date in the date box and the offsets follow the rules in force that day. That matters for anything booked across a clock change, like a flight on the last weekend of October.
Can I share a meeting time or add it to a calendar?
The page address updates with your cities, date and time, so Copy link sends exactly what you see. Download .ics saves an event. Google Calendar, Outlook and Apple Calendar show it in each reader's own time zone.
What is UTC?
Coordinated Universal Time is the reference every offset is measured from. It never changes for daylight saving. Pilots, servers and Unix timestamps all run on it. The Unix timestamp converter reads epoch seconds straight into UTC.
When does daylight saving time start and end in the US in 2026?
Clocks went forward at 2:00 AM on Sunday, March 8, 2026. They go back at 2:00 AM on Sunday, November 1, 2026. Hawaii and most of Arizona stay on standard time all year.
What time zone is India in?
All of India uses India Standard Time, five and a half hours ahead of UTC, with no daylight saving. That half hour is why noon in London is 4:30 PM or 5:30 PM in Delhi, depending on the season.
