20 Minute Timer
20:00
Ready: twenty minutes.
Press Start for 20 minutes. Sleep experts put the best power nap at 10 to 20, so this is the long end of it.
What a 20 minute timer is good for
Screen breaks. Eye doctors suggest the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, look at something about 20 feet away for 20 seconds. Run this timer on repeat during a long spreadsheet session and your eyes will thank you.
It is the classic power nap too. Sleep experts usually suggest 10 to 20 minutes, since a longer nap can sink you into deep sleep and leave you groggy. Each period of an NHL game is 20 minutes of game clock.
Good to know
Lie down first, then press Start, and count the time it takes to drop off as part of the twenty. Some people drink a coffee just before a nap like this, since caffeine takes around 20 minutes to kick in.

Timer questions
How long is a power nap?
Usually 10 to 20 minutes. Twenty is the upper end; go much past it and you risk waking from deep sleep, which is what makes long naps leave people foggy.
